SMART je zkratka používaná pro definování jasných a dosažitelných cílů, a to včetně cílů vzdělávacích kurzů. Znamená Specific (konkrétní), Measurable (měřitelný), Achievable (dosažitelný), Relevant (relevantní) a Time-bound (časově omezený). LMS často využívají SMART cíle pro efektivní plánování a vyhodnocování úspěšnosti vzdělávání.
